about

There is nothing about this "album." It was recorded on October 27th, 2002. There was a time when some of it was going to be part of a split album with Algebrassiere, who were, at some point, around here somewhere. That, however, was in 2006. Perhaps on some alternate timeline...

{thousand yard stare}

Halaka were joined for the occasion by couple of additionals, in the shape of Mrs. Mackerel and Stick.

Some portion of the notes from that weekend are the best we can muster:

Madhog and * began work on a few additions to "The Years are Gradually Breaking my Concentration" album while they starved to death waiting for Fanch to arrive. There was a rainstorm going on outside. Work included creation of a new piece for the end of the album based on some chord structures developed by Madhog while he was listening to an earlier piece. Two acoustic guitars were recorded, and then a lot of voices were overdubbed.

Fanch arrived around 6:30pm and was yelled at by the other starving people. Immediately they all discussed what to eat, and left. * had to go get cash at a bank; since there’s a Baja Stale right next to it, they opted to eat there. Inside the Baja, someone was chopping. Then, someone continued chopping. After that, there was chopping. They all ordered the same meal. Some nearby people at a table explained about the press. Someone continued chopping.

Fanch, *, and Madhog returned to *’s hut and recorded vocals for a track that may be included in the upcoming split release with Anomalies. The tape deck nearly gave * a stroke, but ultimately this was due to his expert engineering skills and a switch on his mixer. Which continues to be not so much a mixer as a 4-track recorder that won’t record anything. Once it worked, the three were forced to listen to loops of their voices oohing until the fone rang.

The fone was Stick, who nearly broke *’s ear. He was at a gas station, in the rain, on a pay-phone. Fortunately, the sniper had been recently removed from action. Stick, and the fone, were less than a block from *’s hut. * went outside to wait for stick, in the rain, with a towel, which got wet, and nearly scared a woman to death when he ran towards her car. Three other cars arrived in the 4 minutes during which * was waiting for Stick.

Stick asked * to look at numbers 10 and 11.

Quote:

10. Keep right at the fork in the ramp.
11. Keep left at the fork in the ramp.

* asked that Madhog not break the styrofoam. Madhog almost threw the styrofoam into *’s eye, but did not break the styrofoam.

Stick assisted *, Fanch, and Madhog in construction of a noise piece for the previously mentioned split. There were interviews. No one was injured. Someone needed to shut the goddamned door. Gilligan.

* found his video camera and a video with footage from years ago when some of the whats were doing some dumb shit, and they watched it. ALL of it. Then it ended.

Fanch slept on the floor, Stick on the couch, Madhog in the spare bed. * slept in his bed with his wife. ()
